Jaguar Land Rover previews its sexy cars from the upcoming Bond flick

With the 24th Bond flick premiering just around the corner, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has leapt at the opportunity to show off some of the brilliant machines that will have popcorn munchers in awe before it hits the silver screen at the star-studded reveal which took place at Frankfurt.

Among the celebrities present at the reveal are Naomie Harris and Dave Bautista, both whom are starring in the movie, should you be wondering. Invited guests were serenaded by British singer and musician John Newman. As you can tell, with the exception of Dave Bautista, it’s an all-British affair. If one had to guess, even the food would have been of the same affair – one can only hope.

Onto the cars, then. JLR’s Skunkworks spec ops division christened Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) has been busy at work with the chaps from Q Branch with the cars in the film, starting with the protagonist’s ride – Jag’s concept C-X75. SVO has been rather mum on the details of the concept car that came to life for Spectre.

JLR also previewed the red-hot, fire breathing Range Rover Sport SVR that’s powered by the AJ-V8 Gen III 5.0-litre supercharged V8 similar to one found in the Jaguar F-Type R. The mill produces 542 hp and 680 Nm and is mated to a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission driving all four wheels. 2015-Jaguar-Land-Rover-Spectre-James-Bond-33

How could one possibly brag about JLR’s cars in Spectre without mentioning the iconic Land Rover Defender, which is coincidentally the fastest, most powerful Land Rover yet? The highly capable Defenders were constructed by JLR’s Spec Ops division with huge 37-inch diameter off-road tyres and enhanced body protection to tackle the challenging terrain of the snow-covered mountain roads used for filming.

The 24th installment of the uber-popular franchise will debut globally next month and a quick check with local cinema listings reveals that it will hit the silver-screen on 6 October. Can you tell that we’re excited?
