If reading isn’t your thing which, frankly speaking, is a luxury many cannot afford lately, then we’ve got our full review put into an eight-minute video hosted by our editor GC Mah and his lovely co-host, Jenn Chia.

As a recap, the Mazda2 is one fine example of a hatch done well in all areas that matter to Malaysians. You want affordable, well built cars? One that has the looks, drives as well and is comfy enough for both city and leisurely excursions? The Mazda2 doesn’t just have those qualities to back, because underneath the bonnet is purpose-built 1.5-litre Skyactiv-G engine. Never mind that it makes 114 hp and 148 Nm of torque, because it’s perfectly matched to the brand’s six-speed Skyactiv-Drive automatic gearbox driving the front wheels.

If that isn’t enough to get you going, wait it out a little, at least till the 1.5L Skyactiv-D (D for diesel) variant enters the market. That oil burning Mazda2 punches 103 hp and 250 Nm of torque, more than enough to have you play with the Sport Switch.

If you’re all about the looks and find that the Mazda2 hatchback/sedan isn’t all that cut out for you, then you may want to wait till the B-Segment compact crossover vehicle from Mazda – the CX-3 – arrives sometime in July. Meanwhile, enjoy the video and do give the full story a read!
