Mercedes-Benz owners, specifically for those with W212 E-Class (both pre-facelift and facelift models) and W218 CLS-Class, there may be a need to get a rubber seal in the engine compartment replaced. The recall is part of the German carmaker’s global product monitoring, and this comes after the last recall which involved its new W205 C-Class model.
The rubber seal issue as per discovered by Daimler AG, is only affecting selected batches of the E- and CLS-Class. Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) has already started informing all affected customers and rectification works will take place at its authorised dealers.
President and CEO of MBM, Mr Roland Folger highlighted, “Mercedes-Benz Malaysia adheres to the highest safety standards and will attend to all affected vehicles promptly. We are committed to ensuring that customers have the best ownership experience.”
The rectification process will take no more than an hour to complete and is expected to commence in mid-March. For further information on the recall, you can contact MBM’s Customer Care Centre at 1-800-88-1133 from Monday to Friday at 9am to 5pm.
This has been a serious issue with auto companies around the world whether its brand like Mercedes or Audi, every car brand facing this issue and have to recall the cars back for fixing. Don’t know why the quality of the product is checked before its launch and is gone through the complete procedure of testing. The car makers should make it a point with their upcoming cars in the world surely.
