Launched here just last week, the Honda HR-V has been making tidal waves since its order books opened, with the public flocking to see the crossover vehicle in the flesh during its nationwide tour throughout the past month. To refresh your memory, the Hip & Smart Runabout Vehicle’s direct competitors are the Ford EcoSport 1.5L and Peugeot 2008.

In this newest First Look installment, we take you around the range topping and best selling variant of the HR-V, the Grade V variant. Again, the HR-V is offered here in three trims – Grade S, E and V. All variants are powered by the same 1.8-litre SOHC i-VTEC engine that belts 140 hp at 6,500 rpm and 172 Nm at 4,300 rpm. It’s paired to the sole CVT box, driving the front wheels.
