It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for, to have a glimpse of the Mazda2 sedan. The 2014 Japan Car of the Year will be making its first motor show appearance at the upcoming 2014 Thailand International Motor Expo on 28 November.

From the pictures here, it appears that the receiving market, in this case Thailand, will be missing out on the LED daytime running lights. It’s unclear if further features will be stripped from both the sedan and the hatch in efforts to bring costs down, but it’s all in due time.

Two engines are offered in the entire Mazda2 range – a 1.5-litre Skyactiv-G petrol engine and a 1.5-litre Skyactiv-D clean diesel engine. Thailand is set to receive the latter variant, though. We already know from our earlier post that we will be receiving the petrol engine, one that makes 114 horsepower and 148 Nm of torque.
