The talk of the town now is the new car from Perodua, the Perodua Axia. Yet to launch officially, it is now available for booking since last Friday, with entry level model starts from an attractive RM24,900. We have compiled information you need to know, as Perodua releases details on its new A-segment vehicle in phases.
PERODUA AXIA MODELS
The new Perodua Axia line-up consists of four models. Starting of with the entry level Standard E, followed by Standard G, SE and top range Advance. All powered by the same 1.0-liter 12-valve DOHC engine that produces 66 horsepower and 90 Nm of torque. The main differences that set them apart are the transmissions: Manual OR Automatic; and exterior design: Aerodynamic bumper design OR Sporty bumper design + side skirtings.
Perodua Axia Standard E comes with the smallest price tag of RM24,900 and the simplest among all models. Well, simple as in, it comes with 14-inch steel rims and no audio system. Perodua offers the E with 5-speed Manual only, without ABS. For RM7,900 more, Standard G (from RM32,800) does come with audio system, alloy rims, but no ABS. It comes in both Manual and Automatic variants.
The Axia SE (Special Edition) is available in both transmission variants, starting from RM37,900. Fitted with semi-bucket fabric seats, audio system with Bluetooth function, ABS with EBD & BA and Solar & Security tint. The top range Perodua Axia AV (Advance) gets the same safety and security features, and on top of that, it is equipped with semi-bucket leather seats and audio system with multimedia system and navigation. All these comes with a cost. A RM20,000 premium on top of the Standard E, the AV (Advance) is priced at RM44,900.
KEY FEATURES
The new A-segment car from Perodua does come with some exciting key features. Perodua has made it easy for us to understand by group them into four main features. In short, the Axia covers efficiency, spaciousness, drivability and economical factors.
The Axia is Malaysia’s first Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV) that can travel up to 21.6km/l in all Manual variants, while 4-speed Automatic variants achieves 20.1km/l. Perodua is offering a 5-year Warranty for all Perodua Axia models, which is a first from Perodua.
