Video: All-new Toyota Camry, Things You Need To Know

UMW Toyota Motor took the opportunity to launch the all-new 8th generation Toyota Camry, codenamed XV70, in the eyes of the public at the 2018 Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show, to mixed reviews, especially on how it looks.

Some thought it was a bit overdone; diminishing the signature elegant exterior of the Camry we’ve all grown accustomed to, with an unnecessarily radical design. What’s also intriguing is the fact that UMW Toyota will only be offering a single variant for the new Camry – 2.5V – priced at RM 189,900 without insurance.

Unfortunately though, it doesn’t get the new Dynamic Force engine as made available in Thailand. What we get here is a carried-over 2AR-FE 2.5-litre Dual VVT-i engine that’s good for 184 hp and 235 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed Super ECT transmission with optimised gear ratios for smoother acceleration.

The new Camry also gets a double wishbone suspension setup that replaces the old multi-link system, along with inclusion of the Toyota Safety Sense driver assistance system.  Find out what else is new in the Toyota Camry in video above!
