Proton has just unveiled an enhanced version of the Proton Ertiga Xtra at the grand finals of the Proton 1 Tank Adventure. The new variant gets a minor equipment change and is not any pricier than the previous Ertiga line up.
Priced from RM56k to RM62k (on-the-road without insurance, GST & SST), the Ertiga Xtra is available in three variants – Executive MT, Executive AT and Premium AT. With the Xtra variant, you’ll get extra equipment in the form of a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, DVD player, Smartphone E-Link and GPS Navigation.

Besides that, the beige interior of the Ertiga has been swapped out for a darker shade (fabric) material for a warmer cabin ambience. Other than that, everything else such as steering wheel audio switches, powered folding side mirrors, second-row air conditioning, dual power sockets and six speakers are retained.
Visually, the Ertiga Xtra is no different too with halogen reflector headlamps, front 15-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 185/65 R15 GT Radial Champiro Eco tyres and fog lamp with chrome garnish.
Underneath the hood, you’ll still find the same K14B 1.4-litre naturally-aspirated MPI four-cylinder that is paired to either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic to deliver 92 hp and 130 Nm of torque to the front axles. The Ertiga is also qualified for EEV status in Malaysia.
