This new hypercar aims to take down the Bugatti Chiron, 0-300 km/h in under 10 seconds

It’s called the Hennessey Venom F5 – an all-new hypercar designed and built from the ground up with the aim to be the absolute fastest road car on Earth – we’ll see how long that lasts.

As we’ve shared previously, the Venom F5 is constructed with a completely new design, chassis and carbon fibre body focused on aerodynamics, along with active aero that will yield a drag coefficient of just 0.33. This will allow the Venom F5’s 1600 hp twin turbo V8 engine to power through to a staggering top speed in excess of 301 mph (484 km/h).

“We’ve designed F5 to be timeless so that in 25 years it will still have a level of performance and design that will be unmatched,” said the founder and CEO of the company, John Hennessey. “The F5 is an all new car, designed and built from the ground up, from the engine to the chassis. We expect the Venom F5, named for the most powerful tornado speed winds on the Fujita scale, to be the first road car capable of achieving more than 300 mph.”

Mated to a 7-speed single clutch paddle shift transmission, the Venom F5 also features an all-new lightweight chassis and carbon fiber body, giving the Venom F5 a kerb weight of just 1,338 kg.

As a result, the numbers projected are simply mind-boggling; 0 to 300 km/h take less than 10 seconds – the same a Mini Cooper 1499 GT would need just to get to 100 km/h – a statistic that also makes the Venom F5 faster than a Formula One race car. Looking to ridicule the Bugatti Chiron‘s and Koenigsegg Agera RS‘s 0-400-0 feat, the Hennessey Venom F5 will look to complete the above mentioned run in just under 30 seconds.

The base price of the Hennessey Venom F5 is said to be in the region USD 1.6 million (RM 6.7 million) with the company planning to build around 24 units only. Alongside the Venom F5, Hennessey is also displaying the Hennessey VelociRaptor 6X6 at the on-going SEMA show in Las Vegas.
