Audi TT TDI quattro unveiled, but it won’t be coming to Malaysia

Joining the third-generation Audi TT lineup is the new TDI quattro variant, which Audi says will deliver strong performance, excellent traction and high efficiency/frugality. It’s offered in both hard top coupe and soft top roadster variants.

The TT TDI was initially available as a front-wheel drive, but customers in selected markets can now opt for the all-weather quattro version. Powering this TT is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel engine, putting out 182 hp and 380 Nm of torque, with the latter peaking from 1,750 to 3,250 rpm.

The RM400k Audi TTS is a monstrosity of a coupe, belting 286 hp and 380 Nm of torque from a 2.0L four-potter!

All four wheels will receive power from the sole six-speed S tronic twin-clutch transmission. This results in a healthy century sprint of 6.7 seconds (7.0 seconds for the Roadster), and maxes out at 233km/h (228km/h for the Roadster). The six-speed stick is only reserved for the FWD TT 2.0 TDI.

Back at home, Audi Malaysia is offering just two variants of the TT – the 2.0 TFSI and TTS 2.0 TFSI. Unfortunately, the former isn’t equipped with quattro, and neither TDI variants will come to Malaysia. On the flip side, there’s a small chance the TT RS will hit our shores next year, so fingers crossed!
