The most powerful pick-up in its class, the Triton VGT GS gets the most goodies as compared the the rest of the models. It now comes with power sunroof, power sliding rear vent window, security window tint, automatic climate control, leather seats, and a 6.1-inch touch screen audio panel with reverse camera. Standard upgrades across all variants are mainly the Pajero Sport front grille, new front bumper and projector headlights.
The engines in the VGT GS remains as the 2.5-litre engine with Variable Geometry Turbo (VGT), that produces 178 PS and 350 Nm of torque. Whereas the rest of the models is still powered by the same 2.5-litre engine, with 136 PS and 314 Nm of torque.
The Triton VGT GS is fitted with Hybrid Limited Slip Differential (LSD) that works along side with the ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) and EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution) to provide better off-road experience. All Triton comes with Mitsubishi’s RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) body. Its strong frame construction and aerodynamic body design offers solid handling, good stability and traction.
Among all the Triton models, the VGT GS is the most ‘luxurious’ in terms of its interior. The leather seats are very welcoming for a pick-up truck. Plus the center console design with the handsome dials for the climate control and the 6.1-inch touch screen panel, you wouldn’t think you are in a truck. In addition to that, the VGT GS is fully imported.
Since its introduction eight years ago, MMM has sold 46,000 units of Mitsubishi Triton in Malaysia. In 2013, the Triton sales figure was at 7,000 units out of the total sales of 13,000 units.
