Xiaomi Auto will update its first electric vehicle (EV), the Xiaomi SU7, in April 2026. Less than two years after launch, the refreshed model comes in Standard, Pro, and Max variants, with updated styling, better performance, and new safety features — including a backup power system for door locks on all trims.
At first glance, not much seems to have changed. Photos posted via the company’s official Weibo account show it in a new colour, Capri Blue, which will coexist with the Bay Blue currently available. It also comes with a new set of 20-inch “sharp blade” wheels, with Xiaomi Auto promising additional colour options at a later date. Alongside these additions, the four-piston fixed front calliper brakes are now standard across the range.
Inside, the cabin gains a Dark Black interior option. Updates include a redesigned two-tone steering wheel, new seats, refreshed ambient lighting, and a revamped centre console that repositions the control buttons for a more efficient and aesthetic layout.
While the exterior sees only mild updates, the real changes are under the skin. According to CarNewsChina, the electrical architecture for the Standard and Pro variants has been upgraded from 400 volts to 752 volts, while the Max variant jumps from 871 volts to 897 volts, which translates to faster charging, more range, and better performance.
On the outgoing SU7 models, the CLTC-rated range were rated at 700 km for the Standard, 800 km for the Max, and 830 km for the Pro. With the updated architecture, these rise to 720 km, 835 km, and 902 km, respectively. The new system also supports faster DC charging, replenishing up to 670 km of range in just 15 minutes, compared to 510 km previously.
All SU7 variants feature Xiaomi’s V6s Plus Super Motor, designed to boost both efficiency and performance. The Standard and Pro, previously 299 hp from a single rear motor, now produce 320 hp. The Max adds a front motor for a combined 690 hp, up from 673 hp.
The Pro and Max models feature closed dual-chamber air springs with continuous damping control (CDC) as standard, while the Max model adds Brembo fixed-calliper brakes with low-metallic pads for improved stopping power.

Finally, safety has also been enhanced. The updated Xiaomi SU7 gains new anti-collision beams in all four doors, upgraded with 2,200 MPa high-strength steel (up from 2,000 MPa). All variants will come standard with a LiDAR sensor and up to 700 TOPS of computing power to support its advanced driver-assistance systems and Xiaomi’s HAD (Hyper Autonomous Driving) suite. In addition, every model is equipped with nine airbags, including two newly added rear side airbags.
Pre-order prices start at RMB229,900 (approx. RM134k) for the Standard, followed by RMB259,900 (approx. RM151k) for the Pro and RMB309,900 (approx. RM180k) for the Max. According to a Weibo post from Xiaomi founder, chairman, and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Lei Jun, many of the car’s changes were a result of consumer feedback over the past two years — much of it focused on improving safety and driver confidence.
