Negeri Sembilan to establish RM1 billion Auto City

A new RM1 billion modern automotive hub, named “Auto City,” is set to be established in Nilai Smart City, Negeri Sembilan, as reported by The Star.

According to Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, the upcoming Auto City will cover 728.43 hectares. The project’s first phase, which commenced construction in September, is anticipated to generate over 5,000 new jobs for the region.

“Auto City will serve as a modern automotive hub featuring vehicle showrooms, spare parts outlets, service centres, automotive aesthetic treatment facilities and lifestyle spaces driven by technology,” said Aminuddin.

“It will not only attract international automotive brands but also provide opportunities for local firms to join the regional automotive supply chain and ecosystem,” he added.

Aminuddin also noted that Nilai’s strategic location near Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) is expected to be a catalyst for other developments in Nilai Smart City, including electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing and healthcare.

The development of “Auto City” is aligned with the Malaysia Vision Valley 2.0 aspirations and is expected to strengthen Nilai’s appeal as an investment destination, creating positive spillover effects for the state economy and local communities.

This new development joins a growing list of major automotive hubs in Malaysia, such as the Automotive High-Tech Valley (AHTV) in Tanjung Malim, which is home to Proton’s manufacturing hub and will soon include facilities for Zeekr and BYD.

Nearby, the Beringin High-Tech Industrial Park is set for completion in 2026 and will see Chery establishing its own manufacturing hub there.
