Chery Malaysia has launched the facelifted Chery Omoda 5, now known simply as the Chery O5 in Malaysia, with only one variant available, priced at RM116,800, on-the-road, without insurance.
The updated Chery O5 introduces a revised exterior, which features a new front grille design with a new and more compact diamond-patterned front grille. The daytime-running lings (DRLs) are now updated with the same items found on its all-electric sibling, the Chery Omoda E5.

The refreshed exterior also sees the controversial red accents removed for a much cleaner look, with the 18-inch alloy wheels receiving a new design with the facelift. Standard exterior equipment of the Chery O5 in Malaysia includes:

The major change introduced with the Chery O5 is the introduction of a six-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), replacing the CVT gearbox from before. This is paired to the same 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 156 hp and 230 Nm driving the front wheels, which enables 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds.
Also new is the rear multi-link suspension setup that replaces the torsion beam setup found in the previous Chery Omoda 5.
Inside, the Chery O5 introduces a new frameless rear-view mirror and dual temperature light vanity mirrors on both sun visors. Bootspace is also increased by 70 litres, which is now rated at 442 litres. The rest of the interior kit remains the same as the previous range-topping H variant, which includes the twin 10.25-inch displays for the infotainment and driver’s digital gauge cluster.
