2025 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S returns to the line-up with more power and all-wheel drive

Porsche has reintroduced the 4S all-wheel-drive (AWD) variants to the line-up of the updated 992.2-generation 911. Available in both open-air and hardtop form, the new 4S models will be available in the standard coupe Carrera 4S, Cabriolet 4S, and Targa 4S styles—now with more power and improved standard equipment.

Aside from two more driving wheels, Porsche has also given the 4S line-up some performance upgrades, among which is the intercooler design that has been carried over from the previous Turbo S, allowing its 3.0-litre twin-turbo boxer-six engine to now make 480 hp – 30 hp more than the predecessor.

Paired with an eight-speed DCT, Porsche claims that the Carrera 4S completes the 0-100 km/h sprint in just 3.3 seconds (with Sport Chrono Package) and has a top speed of 308 km/h. The new 4S models will also come standard with brakes from the GTS models, with discs measuring 408 mm at the front, and 380 mm at the rear.

Porsche says that half of Carrera S buyers opt for the all-wheel drive variant as it gives drivers more confidence, especially in unpredictable weather and road conditions. Despite being all-wheel drive, Porsche says the 4S models still retains the pure 911 driving experience with rear-biased driving dynamics. If needed, the Porsche Traction Management (PTM) system can send more torque to the front axle to increase traction and stability.

The Targa 4S and Cabriolet 4S now come standard with four seats, with the Targa 4S also receiving rear-wheel steering as standard. The Coupe comes standard with a two-seater configuration, and can be optioned with four seats without extra charge. All 4S models will come standard with the leather package, a wireless smartphone charging pad, and Porsche’s matrix LED headlights.

Prices for the new 4S models are estimated to start around EUR163,000 (approx. RM811k) for the Carrera 4S; the Cabriolet 4S at EUR177,200 (approx. RM882k), and the Targa 4S at EUR178,900 (approx. RM890k). When it arrives in Malaysia, expect pricing to fall between the starting prices of the standard Carrera’s RM1,430,000 and RM1,890,000 from the Carrera 4 GTS.
