XPeng is no stranger to bold designs and they have certainly stuck to their design philosophies with the all-new second-generation P7 flagship sedan that has just been unveiled for China.
First images of the 2025 XPeng P7 was recently shared on the Chinese carmaker’s Weibo account, sparking discussions about the cars looks. XPeng Chairman, He Xiaopeng, confirmed that the new P7 will make its public debut in Q3 2025.
Saying the car looks like it came directly from the video game Cyberpunk 2077 is no stretch. The car’s flat panels with subtle body lines are a large contrast to the pebble-looking XPeng G6 we know in Malaysia.
The XPeng P7 still looks undeniably like an XPeng, though, with its front and rear lightbars – a design featured in most of XPeng’s existing line-up of cars. Most important of all, this thing has scissor doors!

XPeng has not revealed anything about the car’s performance and technical specifications yet, but preliminary information obtained through a filing with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) gives us a rough idea on what to expect.
The XPeng P7 – in its home country at least – will be offered in two variants, differentiated by their single and dual-motor set up. The single-motor model delivers 367 hp, is powered by a Lithium-Iron-Phosphate (LFP) battery, and weighs 2,188 kg.

In contrast, the dual-motor variant produces 594 hp, uses a nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) lithium-ion battery, and tips the scales at 2,220 kg. To manage the added power and weight, it also comes equipped with larger Brembo brakes. Battery capacity for both cars have not been revealed, nor their driving range.
The industry has been seeing an uprising of retro-futuristic design, cars such the Land Rover Defender, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Suzuki Jimny all pay homage to their brand’s legacy while looking great in today’s standards. The closest thing to the XPeng P7’s bold looks will be the Ioniq N Vision 74 which will also be going into production.
