After Mercedes-Benz revamped its naming convention across the line-up, we see the introduction of the GLE-Class Coupe to the world. The full range GLE Coupe now debuts in Asia, Thailand to be exact – at the 36th Bangkok International Motor Show.

The GLE-Class replaces the M-Class as the Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV). This however is the GLE Coupe, making it the direct competitor to the BMW X6. Displayed at the Motor Show is the Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 AMG 4MATIC, with a 7,990,000 Thai Baht (approx. RM900,000) price tag.
Sitting right below the AMG GLE 63, the GLE 450 AMG is fitted with a 3.0-liter Biturbo V6, capable of generating 367hp and 520Nm of torque. All GLE models are paired with the 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic transmission, permanently driving all four wheels via its 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive system. Look closely in the images, it’s fitted with massive 22-inch rims.
