Not long after the debut of the Smart #1 in Malaysia, its coupe counterpart, the Smart #3 has now made its official debut in the country. Now open for bookings, the Smart #3 is confirmed to come in 3 variants and you can view it at Malaysia Autoshow 2024 happening from May 22nd to May 26th at MAEPS, Serdang.

The 3 variants of the Smart #3 are the Pro, Premium, and Brabus. And if they seem familiar, that is because they are an exact reflection of the Smart #1’s variant lineup in Malaysia.
While it may be easy to dismiss the Smart #3 as “just a coupe version of the #1”, it is actually larger than the #1. It is 100 mm longer, 22 mm wider, and 80 mm lower. Its wheelbase is also longer than the #1’s by 35 mm, affecting the overall dynamics of the car.
The “Digital White” #3 that we have in the pictures right here is of the Pro variant. And while we have attended the special preview of the car, we spent the most time with this entry-level version. What we can confirm is that unlike the #1, the Smart #3 does not get privacy glass for any of its variants. Standard exterior equipment on the Smart #3 Pro includes:
- Cybersparks LED headlights (LED reflectors)
- Follow-me-home headlights
- LED taillights
- 19-inch “Flux” alloy wheels
- Powered tailgate
- Frameless doors
- Flush door handles
- Standard Smart emblem on the front fenders
- Active grille shutters
The Premium variant adds:
- 19-inch “Torque” alloy wheels
- Illuminated Smart emblem on the front fenders
- Illuminated Grille
Lastly, the Brabus adds the following exterior equipment:
- 20-inch “Synchro” alloy wheels
- Red-painted brake calipers
- Rear spoiler
- Brabus front bumper with top vent
- Brabus styling treatment with front lip and skirting
As for performance, both the Pro and Premium share the same single-motor rear-wheel drive (RWD) setup while the Brabus gets a dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) setup with a rear bias. A summary of the Smart #3’s performance can be viewed in the table below:

Like the #1, the entry-level Pro variant of the #3 gets a smaller 49 kWh LFP battery that naturally provides less range. The Pro and Brabus share the same 66 kWh NCM battery that provides varying range for both cars due to their different power outputs.
Inside, the Smart #3 provides something special compared to the 31 in the form of its panoramic glassroof that comes with no sunshade. It has taken inspiration from the Volvo C40, and just like the Volvo, the #3’s glassroof gets a tint from the factory. Standard interior equipment in the Smart #3 Pro include:
