2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4MATIC facelift launched in Malaysia, RM1 million


The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4MATIC facelift has just been launched in Malaysia. Available in one configuration only, the GLS 450 4MATIC, the luxury SUV fetches an estimated price of RM999,888 (OTR, without insurance).

Changes made to the facelifted Mercedes-Benz GLS in Malaysia include a more prominent-looking radiator grille and a redesigned bumper that sports integrated air inlets, There is also a new taillight cluster with a new triple horizontal block design.

Upon the global debut of the Mercedes-Benz GLS facelift, the carmaker stated that “most drivers of a GLS only travel on paved roads or in easy to moderately difficult off-road terrain”. Thus Mercedes-Benz has made some changes to the SUV’s Off-Road Engineering Package, which consists of an underside guard and 30 millimetres extra of ground clearance.

Standard exterior equipment included with the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4MATIC in Malaysia are as follows:

  • Underride guard
  • 22-inch alloy wheels
  • AMG Line exterior kit

Powering the Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4MATIC in Malaysia is a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-6 engine, making 381 hp (metric) and 500 Nm. The mill is paired with a 48-volt mild hybrid system that features an integrated starter-alternator (ISG), which provides an additional 20 hp (metric) and 200 Nm of boost.

A summary of the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4MATIC’s powertrain specifications are as follows:

Moving inside, the facelifted Mercedes-Benz GLS facelift in Malaysia continues to offer seven seats and sports a rather familiar-looking interior. New equipment found here includes the brand’s latest steering wheel generation, Louvres galvanized in Silver Shadow, and the glossy brown line wood trim.

Naturally, the luxury SUV also gets Mercedes-Benz’s latest version of MBUX. Customers can also opt for the “optional MBUX Multi-seat entertainment” which provides all passengers with a fully decked infotainment unit.

Mercedes-Benz has also packed the GLS with an “Off-Road Mode”. This shows information relevant to off-road activities such as gradient, lateral inclination, compass, and steering angle.

Aside from the preview of the facelifted Mercedes-Benz GLS, the brand has also launched the ultra-luxury 2024 Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC here in Malaysia.
