Video: CBU Mercedes-Benz C 200 Avantgarde, C300 AMG Line in Malaysia from RM288k, 5 Things

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has introduced the fully-imported W206 C-Class in Malaysia, available in two variants. The C 200 Avantgarde starts from RM288,334 while the C 300 AMG Line goes for RM330,681. The prices stated are inclusive of SST exemptions.

Like the previous generations of the C-Class, the Avantgarde and AMG Line differs significantly on the outside. The C 300 gets 19-inch wheels paired with non-runflat tyres while the 18-inch wheels on the C 200 are wrapped with run-flats.

Before, the C 300 would always be fitted with Multibeam LED headlamps, but with these two variants, both share the same headlight system. Both also share the same adaptive suspension, that can be tweaked according to the drive mode selected. Another highlight of the new C-Class is the remote boot release.

Inside, the C 300 AMG Line stands out from the C 200 Avantgarde with different door trims, a sportier steering wheel, and a panoramic sunroof. True to its AMG Line variant, the C 300 also gets sportier seats.

With the C 200 Avantgarde, Mercedes-Benz has brought back the 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system. It makes 204 hp and 300 Nm, while the C 300 gets a bigger, more powerful 2.0-litre engine with 258 hp and 400 Nm. The C 300 AMG Line goes from 0 to 100 km/h in six seconds flat. The C 200 is about a second slower to the mark.
