1,200 km – that’s the claimed range of the new Chery Tiggo 7 CSH, which was recently launched in Malaysia. The new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) SUV is priced at RM129,800 on-the-road, excluding insurance. This makes it approximately RM6,000 more expensive than its petrol-powered Tiggo 7 Pro sibling here in Malaysia.
The CSH moniker stands for “Chery Super Hybrid”, and features a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine making 143 hp and 215 Nm. This is paired with a dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT), which houses an electric motor producing 204 hp (150 kW) and 310 Nm of torque. Combined, the CSH powertrain produces 279 hp (205 kW) and 365 Nm of torque. Claimed fuel consumption is 5 L/100 km.
Equipped with an 18.3 kWh lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery, the Chery Tiggo 7 PHEV CSH boasts a pure EV range of 90 km and a combined range of 1,200 km (NEDC). Charging is supported with AC charging at 6.6 kW and DC charging at 40 kW, allowing for a 30-80% recharge in just 19 minutes. Vehicle-to-load (V2L) is also supported at 3.3 kW to power external devices.
Compared to its petrol-powered sibling, the Tiggo 7 PHEV CSH’s exterior is based on a facelift that was revealed globally late last year. This new design features the removal of blue accents from the front bumper and the integration of daytime-running lights into the main headlight clusters.
Inside, the Tiggo 7 CSH features the same interior setup as its petrol-powered counterpart, with dual 12.3-inch integrated displays and the same centre console layout. Other interior equipment includes double-glazed acoustic glass, leather upholstery, a wireless charging pad, ambient lighting, and an eight-speaker Sony sound system.
Included in the price is a seven-year or 150,000 km warranty, an eight-year or 160,000 km warranty for the battery power pack, power motor, and hybrid control unit with a one-to-one exchange if the battery’s state of health falls below 70% during the warranty period, and five years of free labour service.
