Finding the Toyota Alphard not luxurious enough for you? Good news, as the second-generation Lexus LM has made its launch in Malaysia.
The all-new Lexus LM in Malaysia is offered in two variants, namely the seven-seater LM350h and the ultra-luxurious four-seater LM500h. Prices for the luxury MPV start at RM1,228,00. If you want the LM500h, you will have to pay more at RM1,468,000.
Sitting on Lexus’ GA-K platform, the second-generation Lexus LM is designed according to the brand’s Dignified Elegancy exterior design concept. It also wears the Japanese marque’s latest Spindle grille design up front, similar to the ones found on the brand’s more recent models like the latest RX and LBX.
As you might have guessed from their names, both the Lexus LM 350h and 500h in Malaysia are powered by the brand’s hybrid powertrains. The LM 350h’s hybrid consists of a consists of a 2.5-litre naturally-aspirated 4-cylinder petrol engine and a front-mounted electric motor. Paired with an e-CVT gearbox, this setup contributes to a system output of 250 hp.

The Lexus LM500h in Malaysia on the other hand gets a 2.4-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine along with a dual-motor setup, which has a combined system output of 371 hp. Paired with a 6-speed Direct Shift automatic gearbox, power is sent to all four wheels via Lexus’ DIRECT4 all-wheel drive system.
Inside, Lexus says the rear seats of the all-new LM are inspired by those in first-class airline cabins, especially the ones inside the 4-seater LM500h. The LM500h also gets a partition in the front section with a glass panel that can be raised or lowered.
The glass panel can also be dimmed for added privacy, to make sure the boss’ driver won’t business plans won’t be leaked. To keep the boss entertained, there’s also a 48-inch widescreen display.
In the safety department, the all-new Lexus LM in Malaysia is equipped with the Lexus Safety System + (LSS+) advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) suite as standard. The Lexus Teammate Advanced Drive and Advanced Park suite are also thrown in.
