2024 BYD Atto 3 launched in Malaysia, RM150k – Extended Range dropped, 345km range only

Sime Darby Beyond Auto (SDBA), the official distributor of BYD cars in Malaysia, has announced the arrival of the 2024 updated BYD Atto 3. With the update, the Atto 3 will be available in a single variant, based on Standard Range model, priced at RM150,430 on-the-road without insurance. The Extended range variant has been dropped.

On the outside, the changes are subtle but with substantial effect. The texture on the D-pillars, previously finished in Silver, now comes in Black. Instead of the ‘Build Your Dreams’ lettering on the tailgate, the updated 2024 BYD Atto 3 now wears a more simplified ‘BYD’ badge

A new Cosmos Black colour is now available, in addition to Boulder Grey, Ski White and Surf Blue. According to the 2024 brochure, the previous Forest Green and Parkour Red are no longer available.

Inside, a new Black/Dark Blue colour scheme has been introduced. This will be in addition to the existing Dark Blue/Light Grey interior combination. Those who opt for the new Black/Dark Blue interior can choose between Cosmos Black or Boulder Grey for the exterior, while those going for the Dark Blue/Light Grey interior will have the Ski White and Surf Blue colour options.

Crucially, the infotainment display has been upgraded to a larger 15.6-inch unit, up from 12.8-inches. The infotainment system features wired Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. A wireless charger and multi-colour ambient lighting system is now also available.

The rest remains unchanged. The Atto 3 features a front-mounted electric motor with 204 hp and 310 Nm of torque. The 0-100 km/h time is 7.9 seconds, with an electric range of 410 km (NEDC) or 345 km range following the WLTP standard. The Atto 3 supports 7kW AC charging and 70kW DC charging. With DC charging, the Atto 3 can be charged from 0-80% in 45 minutes.

The 2024 Atto 3 comes with a 6-year/150,000 km warranty, an 8-year/160,000 km warranty for the battery and an 8-year/150,000 km warranty for the drive unit.
