There’s a new C-Class variant in Malaysia and it is the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) Mercedes-Benz C350e. Locally assembled, the C350e is now open for bookings in Malaysia with an estimated price of RM355,000.
Here to replace the mild-hybrid Mercedes-Benz C300, the PHEV C350e sports several visual distinctions such as the Night package which blackens out the chrome trims, the blue accents in headlights to give it a hybrid identity, and a smaller set of 18-inch five double-spoke wheels which are wrapped in a set of Michelin tyres.
With the PHEV powertrain, the C350e is the most powerful non-AMG C-Class in Malaysia. That PHEV powertrain consists of a 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-4 engine and an electric drive system. The transmission in use is a 9-speed automatic that sends power to the rear wheels only.
The PHEV system has a combined ouput of 313 hp (metric) and 550 Nm. This allows the C350e to go to 100 km/h from a standstill in 6.1 seconds. Its top speed is 245 km/h. The electric drive system of the Mercedes-Benz C350e allows for an EV range of over 100 km on the WLTP test cycle. Not only relying on the engine, the 25.4 kWh battery in the C350e can be charged at a rate of 11 kW. It takes 2 hours to fully charge the hybrid battery.
Moving inside, the Mercedes-Benz C350e in Malaysia is fitted with the AMG Line interior kit. It also packs a 12.3-inch instrument display and an 11.9-inch infotainment display that supports both wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
