2024 Volkswagen Golf GTI launched in Malaysia, from RM253k: 10-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, HUD

Just as we start the new year, Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia is the first to launch a new car with the updated 2024 Volkswagen Golf GTI. Now retailing at RM252,990 (Up RM6,000 from the 2023 model), the 2024 update introduces the following updates the Golf GTI:

  • New 10-speaker Harman Kardon sound system
  • New Head-Up Display

All else, the Volkswagen Golf GTI remains relatively the same as the 2023 update which earlier added the IQ.Drive advanced safety system to the model. The new RM252,990 price tag of the 2024 Volkswagen Golf GTI is inclusive of a 5-year free maintenance package and a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty.

If you’re wondering about the details, the new 480-Watt 10-speaker Harman Kardon sound system is an upgrade from the previous 7-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. As for the new head-up display, it projects key information for the driver like speed, navigation, and system warnings.

In the performance department, things remain the same with the Golf GTI housing the 2.0-litre TSI engine that outputs 245 hp (metric) and 370 Nm. Paired with the engine is a 7-speed DSG wet dual-clutch transmission. As usual, all power is sent to the front wheels only.

Nothing is changed on the exterior of the Golf GTI as well, with it still sporting the same signature honeycomb front grille and red GTI trims. The Golf GTI sits on a set of 18-inch Richmond alloy wheels which allow you to peak at the red brake callipers.

Back in 2023, the Volkswagen Golf GTI was updated with the IQ.Drive system which includes safety features like Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), Lane Assist, and Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB).
