2023 BMW iX M60 launched in Malaysia, RM631k – 619hp, 1,100Nm, 0-100km/h in 3.8 secs



The BMW iX is already a powerful and luxurious electric SUV. But just in case you’re craving even more performance, you’re in for a treat as the BMW iX M60 has just made its launch in Malaysia at the Sepang International Circuit, with a price tag of RM630,800, on-the-road, without insurance, and inclusive of the BMW Service and Repair package.

Dimensions-wise, the BMW iX M60 measures 4,953 mm long, 1,967 mm wide, and 1,696 mm tall, with a 3,000 mm wheelbase underpinning it. On the outside, the BMW iX M60 comes as standard with the BMW Laser Light headlights. And to differentiate it from its more “regular” siblings, the iX M60 is fitted with 22-inch BMW Individual M aerodynamic wheels finished in Titanium Bronze. The iX M60’s model badge is also available exclusively in High Gloss Black and Titanium Bronze.

Colour options available for the BMW iX M60 in Malaysia include Mineral White, Alpine White Metallic, Black Sapphire Metallic, Sophisto Grey Metallic with Brilliant Effect, Phytonic Blue Metallic, and Blue Ridge Mountain Metallic. There are also two special colours available for the performance all-electric SUV, namely the Individual Storm Bay Metallic and Aventurine Red Metallic.

Powering the BMW iX M60 is a dual motor setup, mated to a single-speed automatic transmission. Power is sent to all four wheels via BMW’s fifth-generation eDrive all-wheel drive (AWD) technology, resulting in a maximum system output of 619 hp, and a maximum system torque of 1,015 Nm. Its torque performance can also be further boosted up to 1,100 Nm via Launch Control.

Sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in the BMW iX M60 takes 3.8 seconds, while its top speed is rated at an electronically limited figure of 250 km/h, 50 km/h more than its regular xDrive50 sibling. The sporty driving experience is also accompanied by the BMW M IconicSounds Electric sound design, which has been crafted by the famous film score composer Hans Zimmer.

Thanks to a 105.2 kWh battery, the BMW iX M60 can travel as far as 561 km (WLTP). When it runs out of juice, the performance SUV can be charged up at a maximum rate of 195 kW DC, which will take 35 minutes to juice it up from 0 to 80% of charge. The BMW iX M60 is also the brand’s first model in Malaysia to receive AC charging at a rate of 22 kW. This charges the performance SUV from flat to full in 5.5 hours.

Just in case you are faced with slower chargers, the BMW iX M60 also accepts 11 kW of AC charging, which charges the SUV from 0 to 100% in 11 hours.

Underpinning the BMW iX M60 is the brand’s adaptive Dual-axle air suspension system with M Specific tuning, alongside the Integral Active Steering. Supporting the performance SUV at the front is a double wishbone setup, while its rear gets a five-link axle.

Upon opening the doors of the BMW iX M60, Customers are given a total of four choices to finish their performance SUV’s interior with. This includes the Altelier Mocha or Black, or the Suite Amido (blue) and Suite Castanea (red) options.

The performance SUV’s central console and central armrest, on the other hand, are wrapped in Sensatec faux leather. The brand’s BMW Live Cockpit Professional is fitted here as standard, featuring a curved 12.3-inch instrument display and a 14.9-inch central touchscreen display that runs on the BMW Operating System 8.

Other features also included with the BMW iX M60 in Malaysia consist of the phone wireless charger, 4-zone automatic air-conditioning, alongside BMW’s Intelligent Emergency Call, Teleservices, ConnectedDrive Services, Connected Package Professional, BMW Natural Interaction and Active Protection. The performance SUV also comes with a premium audio experience, powered by a 30-speaker Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System.

Safety-wise, the BMW iX M60 in Malaysia is equipped with a series of Active safety features. Among the list of safety kits are the brand’s Driving Assistant Professional, Parking Assistant Professional, and Adaptive cruise control (ACC) with braking function.
