Gallery: 2023 BMW M340i xDrive facelift from RM391k – 392hp, 500 Nm, new M Sport Pro variant

BMW Malaysia has launched the new facelift BMW M340i xDrive with two variants available. The facelift starts from RM391,800 for the standard variant while the new M Sport Pro variant starts from RM396,800. For that, the M340i xDrive will also come with a five-year unlimited mileage warranty and free scheduled service.

Note that the standard M340i xDrive is now RM28,120 more expensive than before, while the new M340i xDrive M Sport Pro variant is available exclusively online with a pre-booking fee of RM3,000.

So what do you get for that higher asking price? For starters, a better-looking car (somewhat). The front end looks no different to the facelift BMW 3 Series launched earlier this year, while the rear end looks far more aggressive than before, especially with the new rear bumper design.

Making up the exterior are items like adaptive LED headlamps, a new front grille design that sports horizontal instead of vertical chrome pins from before, 19-inch style 791 M light alloy wheels, M Sport brakes and M adaptive suspension. With the M High-gloss Shadowline package, items like the side mirror and window surrounds are finished in high-gloss black.

There are a bunch of interesting colours too; such as the Portimao Blue, Black Sapphire and Alpine white which were available for the pre-facelift model. For the facelift, BMW has reintroduced the Melbourne Red in favour of the Sunset Orange along with new options like Skyscraper Grey and Brooklyn Grey. Doesn’t it just pop in that Melbourne Red colour?

Moving inside, the first thing you’d notice is the large BMW Curved Display featuring a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch touchscreen. You also get a head-up display, a wireless charging pad, Harman Kardon surround sound system and three-zone air conditioning. Upholstery options include Vernasca leather in Black or Mocha.

As for the new M Sport Pro variant, it stands out with M Lights Shadowline, 19-inch style 792 M light alloy wheels, M seat belts, red brake callipers, and a Tacora Red upholstery.

Under the hood is a 3.0-litre turbocharged six-cylinder petrol engine with 392 hp (288 kW) and 500 Nm of torque to drive all four wheels via an eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission. Its 0-100 km/h is 4.4 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/h.
