After almost nine years, the Triton will be given an all-new update with its debut set to happen in Thailand this year. Reportedly set to be built on the Nissan Navara platform, styling cues of the upcoming Triton can already be seen through the XRT concept.

The XRT concept seems to be a version of the Triton with an additional rugged kit, something similar to what the Ford Ranger Raptor is for the standard Ford Ranger. The concept car is fitted with front and rear over fenders, mud-terrain tyres, and a camouflage design inspired by lava rocks.

The front end shows some resemblance with the outgoing generation, albeit more futuristic and more butch. The images shared by Mitsubishi suggest an LED DRL strip at the top of the headlight cluster. The grille now features a three-hole design. The wheels adorning the XRT concept seem to take inspiration from Dakar Rally pickup trucks. The side profile of the XRT concept also suggests a shorter rear overhang for the upcoming triton, potentially providing better load-carrying capabilities.
