2023 BMW M2 (G87) ROI open for Malaysia, launching soon – RWD, 6-speed manual

Starting of the year with a bang, BMW Malaysia has opened registration of interest for the BMW M2 (G87) on its official website. The BMW M2 was revealed globally in October 2022 and is a two-door RWD coupe.

Powering the M2 is BMW’s S58 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six engine that makes 460 hp (metric) and 550 Nm. The engine is paired with either an 8-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission. All power is sent to the rear wheels, and the M2 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds with the automatic gearbox and 4.3 seconds with the manual box.

Sporting a rear-wheel-drive system, the all-new M2 is equipped with BMW’s M Traction Control and Active M Differential. The M Traction control allows the driver to carefully probe the vehicle’s performance limits by setting individual intervention thresholds for wheel slip limitation, with a choice of ten stages.

The Active M Differential (at the rear axle) can generate a locking effect of up to 100% whenever required. This optimises traction on road surfaces, offering different levels of adhesion for the left- and the right-hand rear wheel as well as improving power transfer when accelerating hard out of corners.

  • Adaptive M suspension with electronically controlled dampers
  • M Servotronic steering with variable ratio
  • Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including M Dynamic Mode
  • M Compound brakes with six-piston, fixed-calliper brakes at the front and single-piston, floating-calliper brakes at the rear.
