Porsche Centre Johor Bahru now open – first 4S centre and Porsche Classic Partner in Malaysia!

Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP) has opened its doors to Porsche Centre Johor Bahru, its latest 4S facility for the brand with state-of-the-art features that set it apart from the other outlets in Malaysia.

Situated at the Danga Bay waterfront, the new three-storey facility occupies a space of 5,412 square metre, and is built to the brand’s latest “Destination Porsche” corporate architecture concept. In simpler terms, the new corporate identity emphasises on creating a “gathering space” for Porsche enthusiasts and fans alike.

With an investment of over RM28 million, the new Porsche Centre Johor Bahru takes the form of a full-blown 4S outlet, the first in Malaysia with the brand’s new body and paint facilities. Additionally, the new outlet is also the first in Malaysia to be certified as a Porsche Classic Partner.

Porsche Centre Johor Bahru’s showroom floor is split into multiple modular areas, designed to highlight a multitude of Porsche models including a special area for the electrified E-Performance cars, as well as Porsche Classic.

The Certified Pre-Owned area is situated upstairs alongside the Esports racing simulator corner, while the Fitting Lounge, delivery bay, and lounge area are all fully equipped to function as conducive social spaces for customers to consult with highly-trained Porsche staff, or even as a cosy environment for gatherings, in line with the Destination Porsche ethos.

The service centre meanwhile features nine fully-equipped bays with telescopic hoists, capable of catering to all Porsche vehicles (including classics). Taking the ramp to the third floor will bring you to the fully decked-out body and paint centre, capable of high-quality restoration and bodywork repairs, using advanced reconstructive repair techniques and Porsche-certified materials and water-based paints.

As part of its commitment to sustainability, the new dealership features a full-length light well in the main showroom area, allowing as much natural light as possible to enter the building, reducing electricity consumption. Outside, the new Porsche Centre Johor Bahru is also equipped with 175 kW DC fast chargers as well as 22 kW AC charging points, available exclusively for use to all Porsche Taycan owners.

“With the opening of this new showroom, we aim to provide an elevated brand experience while fulfilling the desires of sports car fans in the Southern region of Malaysia,” said SDAP Chief Executive Officer, Christopher Hunter. “With our focus to grow beyond the traditional dealership, we strive to provide high standards of quality, experience, and customer service.”

“After sales service is one of our key priorities in maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction with Porsche owners in Malaysia. With the facility well-equipped to fulfil our customers’ need, they can continue to bask in the fascination of driving a Porsche, while we care for their dream sports car. We are proud to introduce Malaysia’s first certified Porsche Classic Partner to breathe new life into these classics to ensure that these legends will remain on the road for a long time,” he adds.

Commenting on the launch, Sime Darby Berhad Group Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Jeffri Salim Davidson added, “It has been quite a year for our partnership with Porsche in Malaysia, with the first locally assembled Cayenne rolling out of our plant in Kedah earlier this year, and now the addition of the first 4S Porsche Centre in Malaysia in Johor Bahru.

“We have seen positive growth for the Porsche brand in Malaysia, and the setup of this new dealership forms part of our plan to provide world-class standards of customer experience, for both Porsche and Sime Darby Motors.”
