Video: We recently “bought” an Aston Martin DBX…here’s how we customised it!

Personalisation is one of the key components to elevating a luxury carmaker to its status, as well as a reflection of the individual’s character and taste.

Purchasing an Aston Martin DBX is more than just selecting the exterior and interior colours, as GC will walk us through some of the examples of personalisation that is available in the luxury SUV.

For the exterior, buyers can opt for either high lustre chrome or dark gloss black applied to the signature DB front grille, emblems, side blade, bonnet vents and other metallic fittings. The 6-piston floating brake calipers behind the 22-inch rims can also be painted in a colour of one’s choice.

Meanwhile, the smoked grey full-width taillights can make a dramatic effect on bright exterior paintwork so it’s certainly a big point of consideration. Check out the video to see how well different taillights affect the visual wow factor of the Aston Martin DBX.

Inside, the personalisation goes even deeper apart from the upholstery material and colour. Buyers can choose to have a variety of materials to decorate the centre console, headlining, seat detailing and even the embroidery on the headrest.

The luxury SUV is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 with outputs of 550 hp and 700 Nm of torque. Power is transferred to all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission and through an advanced traction and stability management hardware consisting of an active all-wheel drive system, active central differential and an electronic limited-slip differential.

Integrated into the Aston Martin DBX chassis control system is also four tarmac drive modes as well as two off-road modes. GC also provided some insights on how well the Aston Martin DBX drove in our review.

Zero to 100 km/h is completed in just 4.5 seconds, onward to a top speed of 291 km/h. As displayed in the video, the Aston Martin DBX comes with a combination of adaptive triple chamber air suspension and active stabilising bar systems which allows for both low and high ride heights plus flat posture while cornering like a sports car.

Fully handcrafted at their dedicated facility in St Athan, Wales, the pricing of the Aston Martin DBX starts from RM878,000 without options, taxes and other associated fees.
