PDRM offering 50% discount on traffic summonses – from June 18 to July 18

Been putting off payment for your old samans? Well, it’s your lucky day (or month). The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) is now offering a 50% discount for outstanding summonses from June 18 until July 18, 2021.

The discount is applicable for all compoundable summons (both private and company), including those that have been blacklisted. However, summons related to heavy offences committed in 2021, heavy/commercial vehicles, vehicle exhaust modifications, and those that require a court hearing, will not be included in the discount campaign.

With the full movement control order (FMCO) now implemented nationwide, all payment counters for summonses will be closed. As such, the public is advised to make their payments online via the new MyBayar Saman mobile app, or through the service’s web portal, linked here.

PDRM’s press release also states that the mobile application have been recently updated to allow both individuals and companies to register and settle their fines online. The police hopes that the discount on summonses can help the public financially during the stressful Covid-19 pandemic.
