Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC) today announced a new five-year warranty for the Ford Ranger line-up in Malaysia, a two-year extension to the previously three-year warranty previously offered on the pick-up truck.
The new warranty is applicable to all new Ford Ranger pick-up trucks manufactured from 2021 onwards, including those purchased before the announcement today. The new warranty is valid for five years or 160,000 km, whichever comes first. Previously, the Ford Ranger is only offered with a three-year/100,000 km warranty.
SDAC-Ford Head of Sales, Turse Zuhair said, “We understand that for our Ranger customers, their vehicles are not just point-to-point modes of transportation. They are an extension of their lifestyle – for work and play besides daily commutes for families and loved ones.
“With the new 5-year manufacturer’s warranty for our Ranger line-up, we aim to provide added value to customers as they go about their life’s adventures.”
As for existing Ford Ranger owners who currently are on the three-year warranty, SDAC-Ford is also offering an optional two-year/60,000 km warranty extension, which can be purchased at any Ford Authorised Service Centres across Malaysia.
Two types of warranty extensions are available: the PremiumCARE plan, priced at RM5,000 for the Ford Ranger, provides a two-year comprehensive coverage on over 1,000 components, or the PowertrainCARE, priced at RM3,500, which only covers 29 key components in the engine, transmission, and drivetrains.
The warranty extension plans are backed by Ford Motor Company, which means that all repairs and maintenance works will be carried out by factory-trained and certified technicians, using only genuine Ford components. The warranty extension is transferable to the new owner if you decide to sell your car.
SDAC-Ford’s website also lists the Everest as eligible for the new warranty extension plans. The PremiumCARE comprehensive plan is priced at RM5,800 for the SUV, while the PowertrainCare is priced at RM3,800.
