StarRide, a Daimler and Geely joint venture is now in six cities across China

Launched a year ago in December 2019, premium ride-hailing provider StarRides, a joint venture between Daimler Mobility AG and Geely Technology Group has now expanded to Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Xi’An, Beijing and Shanghai.

Since last year, StarRides has grown its number of registered user by almost 80% on a monthly basis, with majority of users being business travelers heading to and from the airport.

The company with its headquarters in Hangzhou, offers premium chauffeur services exclusively with Mercedes-Benz vehicles. It has also recently launched an English version of the app for international users where payments can be made via international credit cards.

StarRides offers one-way bookings, bookings by the hour, airport transfers, and cross-city trips on a reservation basis. Users can choose between luxury sedans such as the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, or E-Class or even the Mercedes-Benz V-Class MPV. The latter comes with a seating capacity of up to six passengers.
