Video: 2020 Volkswagen Passat 2.0 TSI Elegance, 5 Things

Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has launched the facelifted Volkswagen Passat 2.0TSI Elegance in Malaysia as a locally-assembled unit, just four months after its market launch in Germany.

Priced just below RM190,000, can the Passat take on its Japanese Rival – the Toyota Camry, to become the executive’s choice of car? Here are five things to help make up your mind:

Alongside its refreshed looks (check out that new taillight design!) is a new powertrain combination, featuring a new 2.0-litre TSI turbocharged engine, providing an output of 190 hp and 320 Nm of torque.

The engine is paired to a new seven-speed wet clutch DSG transmission – VPCM says that the Passat Elegance is the first front-wheel driven car in its Malaysian lineup to receive the new gearbox.

Another significant change to the updated Passat is the new 9.2-inch Discover Pro touchscreen infotainment display. The infotainment system boasts improved connectivity, and now supports wireless AppConnect – including wireless Apple CarPlay.

As with all new Volkswagen cars, the Passat 2.0TSI Elegance comes with a five-year unlimited mileage warranty, five-year roadside assistance, as well as a three-year free maintenance package.
