2019 Mazda6 pricing announced, starting from RM173k

Mazda has given their line up a refresh for the 2019 calendar year with the latest technologies. After announcing the refreshed Mazda CX-5 last week, Mazda Malaysia has now revealed the full specifications as well as pricing for the 2019 Mazda6.

The Mazda6 will come with 3 engine choices – SkyActiv-G 2.0-litre and 2.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engines, and SkyActiv-D 2.2-litre turbodiesel. All engines are mated to a six speed SkyActiv-Drive automatic gearbox

Newly added to the 2019 Mazda6 is GVC Plus, Mazda’s torque vectoring vehicle dynamic control system with independent brake activation. GVC Plus varies the torque output of the engine by constantly monitoring the roll, pitch and yaw of the vehicle, together with direct yaw moment adjustments through the braking of the outer wheels during cornering, resulting in a smooth and controlled driving experience.

Mazda has also upgraded the infotainment system across the board, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto now integrated to the 8-inch touchscreen display.

All variants except for the 2.0-litre sedan will come with a Bose 11 speaker setup and a 360-degree view camera, while the 2.0-litre will only be equipped with a standard 6-speaker system, as well as a back-up monitor with guide lines.

The 2.0-litre sedan gets 17-inch alloy wheels, while all other variants will be equipped with 19-inch wheels. Mazda’s i-ActivSense advanced safety technologies, such as adaptive LED headlights, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning and lane-keep assist, driver attention alert, and smart city brake support, are present on all variants of Mazda6 except for the 2.0-litre variant.

The 2019 Mazda6 will be imported from Japan, and starts at RM173,659 for the 2.0-litre sedan, jumping to RM211,148 for the 2.5-litre sedan, while the touring version is priced at RM215,148. The 2.2-litre turbodiesel will be priced at RM219,851.

As part of Mazda’s effort for ownership of their cars to be more enticing, all new Mazda vehicles (except the BT-50 pickup) registered from 1st January 2019 will come with 5-years manufacturer warranty and 5-years free maintenance (or 100,000 km, whichever comes first).

  1. Utter rubbish, Jap cars crossing 200k for this segment, whereas conti prices have generally dropped over the years, no wonder more bmw and benz on the road
