Here’s a look at the limited edition Porsche 718 Cayman SportDesign



Sime Darby Auto Performance, distributor of Porsche vehicles in Malaysia has just introduced the limited edition Porsche 718 Cayman Sport Design with only 15 units available. Word is, a third of the RM625,000 (OTR w/out insurance) sports car have already been sold out.

For starters, the Cayman SportDesign gets carbon fibre stripes, new front and rear apron and central-positioned black tailpipes. Black accents also extend to the door handles, side air vents and the rear spoiler.

Other standard features includes Porsche’s Dynamic Light System Plus and 20-inch five-spoke alloys.

Inside the Cayman SportDesign is a mix of carbon fibre and alcantara trims. Notable items include 14-way power adjustable seats, a Bose Surround Sound System with 10 speakers and the drive mode dial on the steering wheel as part of the SportChrono Package to allow drivers easy access to the different drive modes.

The button in the middle of the dial provides the Cayman with the highest possible performance, limited to just 20 seconds.

Performance wise, the rear-wheel drive 718 Cayman SportDesign is propelled by a 2.0-litre flat-four engine making 300 hp and 380 Nm of torque, paired to a 7-speed PDK transmission.

0 to 100 km/h is done in just 4.7 seconds with top speed rated at 275 km/h. As the 718 Cayman is equipped with the Porsche Active Suspension Management, ride height is lowered by 10mm.

The Porsche 718 Cayman SportDesign is available in three colours – Racing Yellow, Guards Red and Carrera White Metallic (five units per colour). Each comes with a 4-year warranty and free maintenance package.
