Mercedes-Benz Malaysia posted 15% sales growth in 1H of 2018



At the product launch of the locally assembled Mercedes-Benz E 300 AMG Line, the company also posted its performance report for the first half of 2018. Mercedes-Benz Malaysia recorded yet another upward trend in sales and market share.

In the first six-months of 2018, the premium carmaker delivered 6,790 cars which reflects a 15 per cent growth compared to the same period last year. The main growth driver is still the locally assembled limousines (C, E & S-Class) with 4,322 units sold, 18 per cent more than the previous year.

The company’s compact car range (A-Class, CLA & GLA) also recorded 20 per cent growth to 996 cars sold in the first half of the year. MBM sold 1,291 units (+4%) of SUVs and 181 units (+1%) of Dream Cars in the same period.

MBM now commands a 2.5 per cent market share in Malaysia (up 0.2 per cent from the previous year), putting the three-pointed star as the number one premium brand in Malaysia. They also offer the most comprehensive range of premium cars in the country with 53 variants across 23 models.
