With the new iOS 12 set to be introduced later this year, you no longer have to resort to Apple Maps in your Apple CarPlay interface, provided your vehicle is equipped with it of course.

The new update will allow users to turn to more familiar apps like Google Maps and Waze (also owned by Google) to be reflected onto their vehicle’s display.

While Android Auto had incorporated Google Maps into its system from the get-go, with Waze following suit last year, iOS users have been stuck with the terrible Apple Maps, since the launch of Apple CarPlay in 2014 (yes, it took them this long).
