Volkswagen cars to be zero-rated GST, up to RM17k price reduction

In view of the new Pakatan Harapan Government’s announcement that Goods and Services Tax (GST) will be zero-rated beginning from 1 June 2018, the rakyat were hoping to see a reduction in price.

Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) was amongst the first carmaker to reflect the new pricing of their vehicles. From 1 June 2018 onwards, all Volkswagen vehicles will be cheaper by some RM4,400 to RM17,102 with CBU models getting the most drastic price change.

Managing Director of VPCM, Erik Winter said: “This period in time is a windfall for Malaysians, and so I would like to urge those considering our products to grab this opportunity as there is no better time to own a Volkswagen. Customer peace of mind is always a priority for us, and we want to be able to provide this during the transition period until the implementation of the SST. We want our customers to benefit from the revised prices and enjoy our ongoing promotions.”
