In an age where SUVs are engineered and manufactured to be just as, if not more powerful than most sportscars, sheer brute performance and impeccable refinement simply won’t cut it anymore. Visual appeal sells, and Porsche probably got that figured out.
Enter the Porsche Macan Turbo Exclusive Performance Edition – one that is based on the Macan Turbo with a Performance Package and now with some youthful vibrance to go with its brute.
The Exclusive Performance Edition utilises a 3.6-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine which delivers 440 hp, 40hp more than the Macan Turbo along with 600 Nm of torque. 0 to 100 km/h takes a mere 4.4 seconds before the Macan tops out at 272 km/h. With all that torque comes a meaty mid-range; with 80 km/h – 120 km/h taking just 2.9 seconds to complete!
The Macan Exclusive Performance Editions comes with a grooved, high-performance brake system as standard, along with the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) tuned to accommodate the Macan’s lowered ride height of 15 mm. It also comes equipped with the Sport Chrono Package and a sports exhaust system.
But this is where the Exclusive Performance Edition stands out from the other Macans; how it looks on the outside and in its cabin. Exterior wise, it comes with 21-inch 911 Turbo Design wheels with lateral spokes painted in high gloss black. LED headlamps and tinted LED taillights comes as standard while trims on the front spoiler, rear apron and side skirts are painted in Carmine Red.
The black and red theme is also carried into the Macan’s interior. It is highlighted by the Garnet Red leather and Alcantara combination, specifically designed for the Exclusive Performance Edition. The exclusive colour is also applied to the contrasting stitching, embroidered “turbo” wording, seat belts, the ring of the Sport Chrono stopwatch and the vehicle key wallet.
The same Garnet Red leather treatment is applied to the aluminium PDK gear selector while the long model description, the “Macan Turbo Exclusive Performance Edition” logo has been added to the door sills and dashboard trim.
The Macan Turbo Exclusive Performance Edition finished by hand at the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur department, is only available in selected countries with prices start from EUR 116,091 (approx RM 577k).
