Westar Maxus Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor of Maxus vehicles in Malaysia has just launched the Maxus G10 Special Edition (SE), joining the existing G10 line-up. Priced at RM157,888, this luxury 10-seater MPV goes up against the likes of Hyundai Grand Starex and Kia Grand Carnival.
Standing at 5,168 mm in length, 1,980 mm in width and 1,928 mm in height, the G10 is larger than even the 12-seater Grand Starex. It’s 3,198 mm wheelbase is only 2 mm short of the Hyundai’s.

EXTERIOR
Don’t be fooled by its unassuming badge because the G10 SE is packed with luxurious features. On the outside, it comes with HID headlamps with Adaptive Front lighting system, LED daytime running lights, LED taillamps, LED high-mounted Stop Laps, chrome door handles, full body kit with roof spoiler and keyless entry. It rides on 18-inch aluminium alloys wrapped in 225/55 profile tyres.
INTERIOR
The cabin of the G10 SE continues to impress as it comes with features that rival even the Toyota Vellfire. Standard features include leather upholstery, multifunctional steering wheel, anti-glare rear view mirror, 10.1-inch roof mounted rear LCD screen, 6-speakers, multi-functional display instrument cluster, reverse camera and cruise control.
Among the class leading features include powered sliding doors with anti-squeeze on both sides, front powered sunroof, twin panoramic rear glass roof, 360-degree surround view camera, 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system and even a 220V three-pin power socket. Yes, now you finally have a plug point for your laptop charger.
PERFORMANCE
Powering this two tonne MPV is a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder that pushes out 225 hp and 345 Nm of torque. Power is channelled to the front wheels via a ZF-sourced six-speed automatic. Sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h takes 10.2 seconds while top speed is registered at 190 km/h. Official fuel consumption is rated at 10.3 litres per 100 km.
SAFETY
As standard the G10 SE comes with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Programme, HBA, RMI, High Strength Frameless Body, High Rigidity Front Door Impact Beam and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System. It also gets front and rear parking sensors as standard.

The G10 SE comes in three different exterior shades – Obsidian Black, Blanc White and Aurora Silver. All purchases of a new G10 SE come with a 3-Years Warranty package.
