Volkswagen’s only pick-up truck, the Amarok has just been awarded the Best Pick-Up award at the Tow Car Awards 2017. Now in its 11th year, this award ceremony sees esteemed caravan specialist and influential journalist to vote on the best pick-up based on towing capability, practical features and day-to-day usability.
The Amarok stood out among competitors with its towing prowess and braking performance. With the Amarok facelift introduced late last year, the refreshed aesthetics and new 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel with 221 hp and 550 Nm further elevates its competitiveness. It was awarded four out of five stars in the Best Pick-Up category.
Director of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Carl zu Dohna, said: “I’d like to thank the team behind the Tow Car Awards for this accolade. We know our Amarok customers appreciate its unique ability to combine rugged off-road capability with on-road comfort and high levels of technology. To add a towing award string to its bow gives customers another reason to choose the Amarok.”
