In conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya festive season, Shell Lubricants Malaysia and Waze have collaborated to launch Asia’s first accident-prone spots alerts.
This initiative is aimed to help drivers be safer on the roads during this peak travel period, especially at the beginning of Ramadan, during and after Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Waze, through its crowdsourced data contributed by “Wazers” or Waze users, have identified 50 accident-prone spots across Peninsular Malaysia. From 16 May till 15 July 2017, a special Shell Helix icon will pop up to remind Wazers to be extra vigilant when approaching these accident hot spots.
According to Alex Lim, Marketing Manager of Shell Lubricants Malaysia and Singapore, the company is taking its road safety practices further through the collaboration with Waze so that drivers could take to the roads with less worry.
Shell Lubricants will also be running a special oil change promotion to encourage owners to service their cars before embarking on their balik kampung journeys. The promo code will also appear on the Waze app.
