Mercedes-Benz GLA facelift teased, to arrive in Malaysia later this year

Unveiled during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Mercedes-Benz GLA is the brand’s smallest crossover offering. Considering that the A-Class has recently undergone a facelift exercise, it is only a matter of time before the SUV equivalent receives the same updates.

Now, Mercedes has just released a single teaser image of the GLA facelift on their Facebook page, ahead of its global debut at the Detroit motor show happening next week. It appears that the GLA facelift will receive styling cues from its hatchback sibling. We can tell the headlamps now feature a single LED tube design, new front grille and a reworked front bumper along with repositioned fog lamps. No images of the rear were revealed but expect Mercedes to tweak the LED tail lamps and revise the rear bumper.

If the A-Class updates are of any indication, we could very well see similar nip and tucks to the interior as well as the 7G-Tronic dual clutch transmission. The most exciting part however, would be the updates to the GLA45 range. Considering that the facelifted A45 now packs 381 hp and 475 Nm under its sleeves, the same updated M133 2.0-litre inline-four turbo may very well find its way to the GLA45 facelift.2016 Mercedes-Benz A-Class Facelift Launch in Malaysia - AutoBuz

We can trust Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) to be quick to introduce this updated range to our shores very soon, especially if they intend to keep up with their aggressive product launch we saw last year. For now, stay tuned for more info on the Mercedes-Benz GLA class when the global debut happens next week.
