Porsche has added a new V6 petrol engine to their second-generation Porsche Panamera lineup, as well as a an extended wheelbase Executive version of the Panamera. With the new entry-level petrol option, prices of the Panamera now begin at £66,386 (RM351k) instead of £88,700 (RM469k), making the Panamera approximately £22,000 (RM116k) more affordable than before!
Unveiled ahead of the Los Angeles Auto Show, the entry-level variant will sit below the Panamera 4S and can be had in either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive (with Porsche Traction Management; PTM) in the Panamera 4. However, don’t let the term entry-level fool you, resting under the hood is a derivative of the 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 petrol found in the Audi S5 and S5 Cabriolet. The turbocharged V6 is mated to a eight-speed PDK double-clutch transmission producing 326 hp, 20 hp more than the old 3.6-litre mill.
The Panamera Executive boasts 150mm longer wheelbase offering more interior space at the rear for better comfort. As with the standard wheelbase Panamera, the Panamera Executive comes in four variants – Panamera 4 Executive (3.0-litre V6 turbo, 326 hp), Panamera 4S Executive (2.9-litre V6 turbo, 434 hp), Panamera E-Hybrid Executive (2.9-litre Bi-turbo V6 hybrid, 462 hp) and Panamera Turbo Executive (4.0-litre V8, 542 hp).
In the Executive versions of the Panamera, standard equipment includes a full-sized panoramic roof, heated seats with powered adjustment for all seats, adaptive air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and roll-up sunshades for the rear passengers.
On top of that, the high performance Panamera 4S Executive and Panamera Turbo Executive will come with rear-axle steering and soft-close doors. The Tubro variant adds on four-zone climate control, Porsche Dynamic Light System (LED headlamps) and ambient lighting.
With the extra space in the back of the Panamera Executive, customers might want to consider the optional 10.1-inch Porsche Rear Seat Entertainment. The detachable display can be used as a tablet and transform the rear seats of the Panamera Executive into a workspace.
In the UK, prices for the new entry variant 3.0-litre V6 Panamera begins from £66,386 (RM351k) to £69,412 (RM383k) depending on options. For the Executive Panameras, prices range from £76,034 (RM420k) to £122,480 (RM676k).
We’ve seen enough of the Panamera already, haven’t we? Fret not, these variants will certainly be introduced to Malaysia very soon.
