BMW M4 DTM Champion Edition is just as hardcore as the M4 GTS, limited to just 200 units

The BMW M4 GTS is back, sort of, because this M4 DTM Champion Edition features pretty much what the GTS offered back then. Built in honour of Marco Wittmann’s 2016 DTM championship title, the M4 DTM Champion Edition is another limited-run special that you probably can’t buy, since BMW only makes 200 examples of it.

There’s that 69 hp and 50 Nm power hike over the standard M4 courtesy of the water injection system fitted to the twin-turbo 3.0-litre straight-six, so the M4 DTM Champion Edition produces a total 500 hp and 600 Nm. Sprint time from 0 to 100 km/h takes 3.8 seconds, and the top speed is limited to 305 km/h.

It wears almost the same kit as the M4 GTS, but the DTM Champion Edition adds aero flicks on the front bumper, and the rear wing is slightly different than the one fixed on the GTS. And unlike the GTS, the DTM Champion Edition’s colour scheme is mainly white and garnished with the tricoloured M stripes.

The same M4 GTS story goes on the inside, the front seats are replaced with proper full-buckets with racing harnesses while the rear seats were sacrificed for a rollover bar. However, BMW retains the aircond and the navigation system in this one.

The base M4 costs €73,300 (RM339,860) in Germany, but the DTM Champion Edition is almost double that price at €148,500 (RM688,540). With only 200 units scattered worldwide, chances are you won’t see two of them at the same time, unless of course you’re in Dubai.
