Perodua sold 97,400 cars in 1H2016, Bezza bookings exceed 10k!

It looks like 2016 will be a strong year for Perodua as the company registered 97,400 sales from just three models during the first half of the year. It’s impressive but not surprising, because the number excludes sales from the newly launched Perodua Bezza.

Out of the 97,400 units sold, the largest chunk goes to the Axia model with 51,100 units sold, followed by 28,100 units of the Myvi and 18,150 units of the Alza. Surely, sales of the three models (especially the Axia) will see a decrease in the next six months following the introduction of the Bezza.

Despite MAA’s revised TIV projection (down to 580,000 from 670,000 for 2016), Perodua shows no signs of slowing down by maintaining their annual sales target of 216,000 units. To do that, Perodua has to sell 118,600 cars for the remaining six months of the year, a feat made slightly more possible with the Bezza’s introduction.

Speaking about Perodua’s latest darling, since the Bezza’s official unveiling a week ago, Perodua has collected over 10,115 bookings as of 26 July, with 500 units delivered to their respective new homes.

Elsewhere, Perodua records a 5 percent growth in both its aftersales and parts department, although production numbers dropped slightly compared to the same period in 2015.
