Shell Malaysia launches Euro 5 diesel, priced at RM2.00 per litre, 10 sen more than Euro2m

It’s been a long time coming, this. Shell Malaysia has finally launched their Euro 5 diesel, which as of December 2015, is priced at RM2.00 per litre. This means if your car is Euro 5compatible, you’ll only need to pay 10 sen more for the cleaner diesel compared to the RM1.90 per litre Euro2M diesel.

As of now, only five Shell stations in Peninsular Malaysia will be carrying this fuel, and they are:

  1. NKVE Shell Station, North-bound
  2. Tapah Rest Stop, Perak
  3. Tanjung Malim Layby, Perak
  4. Bandar Ayer Keroh, Melaka
  5. Pasir Gudang Highway 2, Johor

Shell’s Euro 5 diesel has ultra-low sulphur content, having just 10 ppm (parts per million) compared to their Euro2M diesel which had 500 ppm. Shell Malaysia’s Managing Director, Tuan Haji Azman Ismail said, “The Euro 5 diesel is not just cleaner, a full tank of it will also last you longer compared to the Euro2M fuel.”

To encourage efficient driving, Shell Malaysia is partnering BMW Group Malaysia (who has been championing the use of Euro 5 diesel since 2009) to create awareness on the importance of fuel efficiency and emissions responsibility on the road. Shell Malaysia also said that they are in the midst of expanding the availability of Euro 5 diesel throughout the country, so watch this space for more updates to come!
