Range Rover Evoque Convertible conquers the gravel, debuting in November 2015 [+Video]

Yes, it’s real. There exists a topless Evoque, and it’s bound for its world debut next month. The Range Rover Evoque is no stranger to the world of SUVs, and it more than just successfully introduced the brand to a wider pool of new and younger customers. The Range Rover Evoque Convertible first surfaced as a concept car in 2012, a year after the regular variant began production.

Land Rover claims that the Evoque Convertible is the world’s first luxury compact SUV convertible, though despite going topless, the SUV retains its dynamic on- and off-road driving capabilities and structural rigidity as well. The video below shows the Evoque Convertible going through its final stages of testing at the company’s all-terrain proving ground where its full suite of off-road (and on-road) technologies is showcased.Range-Rover-Convertible-5

Not much is known of the topless SUV for the time being, but we can expect both petrol and diesel engines to power the vehicle. What we do know is that nobody in their right mind will take the Evoque Convertible off-road, not least with the top down, of course.

Land Rover Chief Engineer of Vehicle Integrity, Mike Cross said “Land Rover prides itself on being a class leader when it comes to all-terrain capability and the Evoque Convertible is no different. Thanks to a combination of innovative engineering and the application of advanced technologies, Evoque Convertible will deliver a dynamic and assured SUV experience that has been tested around the world. We call it ‘The Convertible for all Seasons’.”Range-Rover-Convertible-1

It will make its world debut at the Los Angeles International Auto Show in November and subsequently go on sale in the UK beginning March 2016.
